AREA AIRPORTS
There was a street in Gatlinburg named Airport Road until just a few years ago, although there's never really been an airport here. Major commercial flights are available less than 60 miles away, and a nice, Gatlinburg-owned airport for corporate jets and private craft just 15 miles away.
COMMERCIAL: The closest commercial airport servicing Gatlinburg is Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson (TYS) Airport. Located a little over an hour’s drive away, numerous major airlines are available. Most rental car agencies are represented, or limousine service is also available.
PRIVATE: The Cities of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge operate an airport in Sevierville, just 20 minutes from Gatlinburg. The Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge (GKT) Airport has a 5,500 foot runway, is attended during daylight hours, and services thousands of corporate jets and private planes each year. For more information, call
865-453-8393. One national auto rental company services the airport, and there are also taxis to get you to Gatlinburg.
