Highway traffic in the Smokies can be a bear, especially along the primary routes of Highways 66 and 441 leading into Sevierville and through Pigeon Forge. The good news is that you can avoid all that traffic on your way to Gatlinburg from now on! There was a street in Gatlinburg named Airport Road until just a few years ago, although there's never really been an airport here. Major commercial flights are available less than sixty miles away, and a nice, Gatlinburg-owned airport for corporate jets and private craft just fifteen miles away.
